What the MYOB Business export covers
Built to MYOB Business’s timesheet import template. Here is exactly what Clockie writes, and what it checks before you download.
- File type
- Comma-delimited .csv with a header row, one row per shift, named myob-business-timesheets-<date>.csv.
- Columns written
- Employee last name, Employee Card ID, payroll category, date, units, and the shift start and end times.
- Employee matching
- The card ID column carries each person’s Employee Payroll ID from Clockie, which should hold their MYOB employee card ID. Last name is written as well, but the card ID is the reliable key when two people share a surname.
- Payroll category
- Taken from the pay code applied to the entry, so ordinary hours, overtime and allowances map to the MYOB pay item you nominate. Entries without a pay code fall back to ordinary hours.
- Units
- Decimal hours for the shift, after your break-deduction and rounding rules have been applied.
- Dates and times
- Dates written DD/MM/YYYY, with 24-hour start and end times, all in your business timezone.
- Validation Clockie runs
- Only approved entries with a clock-out are exported, and staff without an Employee Payroll ID are left out of the file and named to you first.
- A note on the template
- MYOB’s import screen lets you map columns as you load the file, so if your company file uses different header wording you can match them at import time.

About MYOB Business
MYOB Business is MYOB’s cloud accounting and payroll product for New Zealand small and medium businesses, covering PAYE, KiwiSaver, leave and payday filing. It includes a timesheet import under Settings, then Import and export data, for bringing hours in from other systems.
MYOB integration questions
Does Clockie work with MYOB Business?
Yes. Clockie exports approved timesheets as a CSV built for the MYOB Business timesheet import, carrying employee card IDs, payroll categories, dates and units. You import the file in MYOB and process your pay as normal.
Is there a direct API sync with MYOB payroll in New Zealand?
No. MYOB’s developer documentation describes its payroll timesheet endpoints as being for Australian company files, so the New Zealand path for third-party time systems is the timesheet import file, and that is what Clockie writes.
Which MYOB product is this for?
This export targets MYOB Business, the cloud product. If you run MYOB IMS Payroll, use the dedicated MYOB IMS export instead, which writes IMS Payroll’s own Time Import format.
How are employees matched?
By MYOB employee card ID, stored as each person’s Employee Payroll ID in Clockie. Anyone missing one is excluded from the file and listed to you by name before you download it.
Are NZ breaks applied before the export?
Yes. Units are exported after Clockie applies your break-deduction and rounding rules, and only approved entries with a clock-out are eligible, so MYOB receives the hours you signed off.
What does the MYOB export cost?
